Grandmas

When I was little,
I thought my grandma
was the wisest woman on earth,
    Now that I'm a grown up I know
    I was wise to think so.

When I played in your heels and
dress-up clothes, you
laughed and clapped
with glee.
    But the way
you lived your life,
Grandma, you were the
model for me.

A grandma
is a blessing from
heaven above
    With a heart full
of kindness, compassion, and love.

    A loving
grandma is happy
to receive a bouquet
of dandelions.

---

 

    Soft gray curls
and sparkling eyes,
many years have
made her wise.
    Precious moments she
shares with you:
a grandmother's love
so tried and true.

---

 

    In her
grandchild's face,
a woman sees her
parents before her,
her children after
her, and the continuance of her being.
