Sawdust From The Kerf
Volume 6
Issue 1
December 2007
Christmas 2007
Christmas in New Zealand is in the middle of summer.

NZ Jingle Bells Chain Saw Search

Dashing through the bush,
in my trusty, rusty Ute,
kicking up the dust,
old saws in the boot,
my lady by my side
singing Christmas songs,
it’s Summer time and we are on
a Chain Saw trading trip.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in New Zealand on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is a beaut!
Oh what fun it is to ride in my trusty, rusty Ute.

Engine’s getting hot;
we’d better stop for ice,
put it in the chiller,
to keep the beer just nice,
we’ve a long way to go,
from Woodville in the North
to Greymouth in the South.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in New Zealand on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is a beaut!
Oh what fun it is to ride in my trusty, rusty Ute.

We are on a Danarm search,
a two man rather rare,
or a Blue Streak would be nice,
maybe a Mobilco to two,
our list is rather long,
we’ll be happy with what we find,
meeting with friends old and new,
who love old saws the way we do.

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in New Zealand on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is a beaut!
Oh what fun it is to ride in my trusty, rusty Ute.
